Sure, PGFT works fine (and always has) with maps targeted for the older GPS models. I believe folks promoting the use of the PGFT kit don't fully understand the issue. That is why I originally asked the question. Based on the timeline of the PGFT 2.2.5.4 release date and the introduction date of the new protection scheme (inside the newr GPS models) I can't believe PGFT it will unlock maps for use on the newer models.
